“Eye” Gossip

By Lauren Milisits and Jessica Koller

Hey Guys! This year, we at the Eye Opener have decided to spice things up a bit by adding a gossip and advice column. We’re here to give you advice and the scoop about what’s up in the world with your favorite celebrities.

For all you underclassmen ladies, here’s a quick lowdown on one of the Jonas Brothers. Before you start planning your wedding, Joe Jonas, the famed tambourine player, is currently dating Taylor Swift. They were recently seen getting rather cozy at the MTV Video Music Awards. Don’t sweat it because John Mayer is once again single and ready to mingle.

In other hot male news, Michael Phelps was recently spotted attending a Browns vs. Steelers game in Cleveland decked out in a gray jumpsuit. In the pool, he’s fine as always, however he could use a little fashion help outside of it. It’s unclear who he was cheering for, but we’ll just pretend that we know he’s a die-hard Steelers fan because the Steelers dominated 10-6.

As many of you might have seen on SNL, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler acted in a hilarious skit about Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton. They mocked the two prominent females of the 2008 presidential election, making jokes about Palin’s intelligence, “I can see Russia from my house!” as well as Hillary Clinton’s bitterness about failing to receive the Democratic nomination. “You’re right Sarah; I should have wanted it more!”

On MTV’s new show Exiled, MTV throws a bunch of snobby, rich, former “Sweet 16-ers” into remote locations such as the Amazon Rain Forest or the Frozen Tundra, where these teens spend a week in the life of the inhabitants. They clearly need more than a week to learn that life isn’t all about material things. They are taught how not to depend on daddy’s money and mommy’s willingness to follow every demand. On one episode, Chelsi, who lived in the Frozen Tundra, had to ice fish and herd reindeers. She had a major meltdown, crying for her parents, begging to go back home, and showed everyone what a spoiled brat she was. It’s about time that these kids learn how to act like adults and make a living for themselves, without being dependent upon daddy.
